Time away from work that has a type, a balance, and an approval.

Leave is an absence with a reason and a decision. Annual leave, sick leave, and unpaid leave are different things, and markets treat them differently.
A balance is what remains after approved time is taken. If the balance lives in a spreadsheet, two people can be looking at two truths.
